Pantone Colour Libraries
Pantone Colours
Most software packages have a selection of built-in colour libraries and the most popular is the Pantone Matching System or PMS.

The Pantone Colour Formula Guide is used professionally to mix colours accurately to different types of paper.

There are a large number of variables which can affect the colours used in your job. Generally it is much better to choose and use colours from printed swatches than to rely on the appearance of colours on a monitor.

Pantone colours can also look slightly different when emulated through the CYMK 4-colour process so it cannot be guaranteed that the colour you view onscreen can be exactly emulated in print
